Tennessee and the Appalachian Mountains are such beautiful places to ride motorcycles, especially at this time of the year. The weather is still cool, vegetation is at maximum green, and the endless winding roads are nothing short of amazing. I chose my ‘24 Pan America for the 2,000+ mile round trip; this motorcycle is tailor-made to enjoy everything Tennessee has to offer!
The action immediately ramps up on Thursday with run-what-you-brung dirt drag racing hosted by Boswell’s Harley-Davidson, and it was insane! Everything from hooligan Sportsters to Knuckleheads, baggers, bobbers — you name it, someone was out there cranking the throttle and kicking up dust. The trails at TMMR officially open allowing you to explore over 40 miles of dirt (ranging from mild to wild) on your adventure touring bike. The Pan America Demo Team is on-site and test rides are available throughout the weekend!
Did you ride out to TMMR with a plan of kicking back and enjoying quality live music? Band after band hit each of the three stages all weekend long! I talked to a good number of people who rode their bikes out just to relax and enjoy the music and watch a little moto madness in between.
Saturday’s the big one: first order of business is the now-famous Hillclimb! Choppers, dirt bikes, street bikes, Sportsters, baggers, and everything else tried their best to conquer the mountain. Some went home as winners, and others have to give it their best shot next year. Just a few hundred yards away, Danger Dan and Led Sled Customs hosted a ride-in creek party that raged straight into the afternoon kickstart competition. It was a hot one, so plenty of families and friends took the welcome opportunity to jump in the creek to cool off before getting in line for the pig roast. As soon as one event ends, another seemingly begins, the burnout competition lit right up and the party raged on!
We watched tons of great vintage and modern choppers ride in from all over the country to party and show off their latest creations. The BC Moto Invitational’s invited builders have their bikes on display during the day and at night under the lights! I loved the layout and format with three rows of risers for the bikes to be properly displayed and admired. What makes the invitational special is that Bill focuses on celebrating the authenticity of not only the bikes, but their builders as well. No winners, no politics, nothing but respect and appreciation for the truest art form in custom motorcycling.
We haven't even touched on the V-Twin Visionary Performance Show, hooligan flat track racing, or run what ya brung biker games! I personally love a wild campout and in the campground itself lives a whole other world of fun. Pop up minibike races and pit bikes screaming through the rowdy sections of the forest and between tents, impromptu jumps, mayhem on the TT track - these are the activities I live for. One last hurrah before everyone started winding down and packing up before the long-haul home.
Thank you to TMMR for showing us a great time and thank you once again to Harley-Davidson for the opportunity to capture what we love the most! Make sure to put Tennessee Motorcycle and Music Revival on your list for 2026!
From local rides to dealer events to multi-day rallies, there's something for everyone. All are welcome.
